Grilled Summer Fruit PDF Print
Locally Delicious!

6 Servings

This is so good you’ll be grilling dessert every night during the months of July and August. I especially love to grill peaches, but you can experiment with nectarines, apricots and apples.

6  tablespoons butter or margarine

¼ cup honey

In a 9- to 10-inch frying pan over medium-high heat, melt butter; add honey and stir until well blended. Remove pan from heat.

6  firm-ripe peaches or apples (6 ounces each), cut in half and pitted

Lay fruit, cut side down, on a barbecue grill over a solid bed of medium coals or medium heat on a gas grill (you can hold your hand at grill level only 4 to 5 seconds); close lid on gas grill. Cook until fruit is hot and lightly browned on the bottom. Brush tops with butter mixture, then turn fruit over and brush cooked sides with mixture. Cook until fruits are warm but still hold their shape, 6 to 10 minutes total.

Can be served with vanilla ice cream on top.
